Stability through Integration: Presenting our Sustainability Report 2025
From the historic blackout in the Iberian Peninsula in 2025 to ongoing volatility in global energy markets, reliable energy systems have become increasingly essential for modern economies and societies.
Against this backdrop, our 2025 Sustainability Report is centered around a simple but important idea: Stability through Integration. As renewable generation continues to grow, ensuring a secure energy system requires more than additional generation capacity. It depends on the integration of diverse energy sources with the transmission networks, storage facilities and flexibility solutions that keep the system balanced.
This approach is reflected in EIP’s portfolios. We invest across renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution networks, storage assets and integrated energy infrastructure businesses that help connect and balance the energy system.
Recent developments across portfolio companies show this strategy at work, from Repsol Renewables’s completion of the 825-megawatt Pinnington Solar Farm in Texas, one of the largest solar projects in the United States, to Alpiq’s expansion in battery storage and Fluxys’s role in future low-carbon molecule transmission systems.
Across EIP-managed portfolios in 20251, total installed capacity reached 23 gigawatts, an increase of 20% compared to 2024. From this total capacity, 91%, comes from renewable generation technologies.
Portfolio companies also generated in 2025 more than 41 terawatt hours of energy, of which 34.1 terawatt hours, or 82% came from renewables. This renewable energy generation is equivalent to the household consumption of around 9.46 million average European households.
Beyond these portfolio-wide metrics, our report also explores the evolving role of infrastructure beyond electricity generation. A dedicated case study highlights how portfolio company Fluxys is supporting Europe’s energy transition by adapting its extensive pipeline network for future low-carbon molecules, including hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
Sustainability in Action Across Our Portfolio
This year’s report features further case studies from across our portfolio, showcasing how sustainability is being put into practice. From biodiversity and flood protection measures, local community engagement mechanisms, to infrastructure transformation and system flexibility, these examples demonstrate how our portfolio companies are helping shape a more sustainable, secure and integrated energy future.

As we look ahead, we remain convinced that energy infrastructure is more than an attractive investment opportunity. It is the foundation of a secure, affordable and progressively decarbonized energy future. Supported by the dedication of our team, the trust of our investors and the strength of our long-term partnerships, we will continue investing in the infrastructure that enables the energy transition and creates value across generations.
