Your area of responsibility
As Investment Vice President, you will be responsible for supporting the team throughout the investment lifecycle, starting from sourcing and execution of transactions to post-closing value creation and asset management tasks all the way to potential opportunistic sell-downs, with a particular focus on opportunities in the Swiss and German markets. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
Deal sourcing & execution- Identify and originate attractive investment opportunities in the energy infrastructure sector, leveraging your network and market insights
- Lead transaction execution, including financial modelling, valuation analysis, and preparation of investment memoranda for the Investment Committee
- Manage due diligence processes across technical, legal, financial, tax, and commercial workstreams, coordinating external advisors and internal experts
- Structure transactions, negotiate key terms with sellers, partners, and lenders, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Derive and present investment strategies aligned with EIP’s objectives and market dynamics
Asset management- Take full ownership of assigned portfolio companies and assets, ensuring delivery of investor returns and strategic objectives
- Represent EIP on Boards of Directors where relevant, actively contributing to governance and decision-making
- Monitor operational and financial performance, identify risks, and implement corrective measures when necessary
- Prepare insightful client reporting and maintain strong relationships with investors and stakeholders
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance portfolio value, such as operational improvements, growth strategies, and refinancing opportunities
- Collaborate closely with management teams and internal expert functions to implement best practices and drive performance
Leadership & Team Development- Mentor and guide analysts and associates, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Ensure efficient project management and knowledge sharing across the team
Your skills and experience
- Excellent academic background with completed studies in business administration or natural/engineering sciences with a Master or Ph.D. degree from a globally recognized top-tier university or business school
- At least 7 years of investment experience working in the energy industry or on sizeable infrastructure transactions and/or investments globally
- Significant experience of managing a highly motivated team and comfortable managing complex deals/projects
- Strong network in the energy market with the ability to originate and source deals
- Profound understanding and experience of M&A transactions, gained from a substantial track record of transactions through conducting due diligence processes in the infrastructure sector and negotiating transactions independently
- Familiar with project financing and good commercial and technical expertise coupled with a strong understanding of the key value drivers and risks of potential investments that are in line with compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking and ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex topics
- Independent, pro-active, flexible and entrepreneurial approach; therefore, a self-motivated personality with excellent communication skills and with a positive, can-do attitude
- Fluency in English and German is a must; other languages are an advantage
