- With a dedicated team of industry veterans, the Singapore office will serve as a hub to deepen connections with institutional investors in the region, focusing on Japan and South Korea
- Based on portfolio needs, long-term approach and familiarity with infrastructure asset class, Asia-Pacific investors managing assets worth EUR 16 trillion are a strong fit with EIP’s approach
ZURICH & SINGAPORE, May 28 2025 — Energy Infrastructure Partners AG (EIP), a leading energy infrastructure investor focused on the megatrends of decarbonization, digitalization and security, is expanding its presence in the Asia–Pacific region (APAC) with the opening of a new office in Singapore.
With a dedicated local team, the new office will leverage Singapore’s position as a strategic hub and global financial center to serve institutional investors across APAC, including sovereign wealth funds, public and corporate pension funds and insurance companies.
Many investors in APAC are actively seeking diversification beyond traditional asset classes and domestic markets, particularly into real assets that offer long-term, stable and inflation-hedged returns. Particularly in Japan and South Korea, institutional investors are known for long-term investment horizons and sophisticated understanding of infrastructure as an asset class.
Their needs are a strong match for the global portfolios of energy infrastructure investments managed by EIP. Investors in the region, excluding China, manage a vast and expanding pool of assets worth around EUR 16 trillion.
Long-term investments beyond traditional asset classes
“As some of the sharpest investors in the world, institutional investors across Asia-Pacific understand the unique profile of the energy infrastructure sector and the enormous opportunity in this space over the next decades,” said Peter Schümers, EIP partner.
“Our strategy of investing in system-critical energy infrastructure alongside leading industrial players fits well with the needs we see from clients in Asia-Pacific. Opening our Singapore office gives us the chance to work closely with them and increase access to our strategy and this special sector in the infrastructure asset class,” said Beat Goetz, EIP Head of Client Solutions APAC.
The Singapore office will officially open on June 1, 2025. EIP’s local team has more than six decades of combined experience working with clients in the alternative investment space and more than four decades working specifically in the Asian market.
Singapore is EIP’s fifth office globally, alongside its two locations in Zurich and presence in Luxembourg and Frankfurt. Leveraging EIP’s operational platform in Zurich, the local team will focus on fundraising and client servicing activities in the APAC regions in collaboration with licensed distribution partners.
